Our current customer base is primarily business-to-business, representing a wide range of sectors including schools and colleges, residential and nursing homes, retail and office, community groups and sports clubs, engineering, pharmaceutical, construction, food and transport.
Not only do we take great pride in our personal and efficient service but, in order to keep supplying our customers with the best products and service, we strive to continually upskill and train our team. Our service engineers are BAFE (British Approvals for Fire Equipment) and JOIFF certified to ensure all our fire service customers are fully protected.
Willie and Claire O’Leary started out in 2002 from a home office and a “man-in-a-van”, juggling babies and work life to provide for a growing family. Growing steadily over the years we moved from our house to an office, on to a various small retail outlets before landing in our current premises in 2021 with a team of 9 people.
In 2002 little did we know that we would end up buying back Willie’s childhood home in Millstreet. His parents Willie & Mary O’Leary ran one of Ireland’s most successful Spar supermarkets for around 40 years. They lived beside and over the shop, rearing 7 children and providing local employment. Willie and Mary sold up in 1999 and retired while the supermarket remained under the care of new management for a number of years before eventually closing.
The building lay idle for 12 years before Willie and Claire made an offer to buy it back in 2019. The deal was done, and they took on the project of restoring and renovating the building – with the aim of moving Munster Fire & Safety to a new home with the space required for the growing team. The building now houses a dedicated retail space, offices, workshop and warehouse.
A new era for this historic building has begun by the next generation of O’Learys and the team in Munster Fire & Safety has been overwhelmed by the welcome back to Main Street by the local community.
We’re open 6 days a week for your workwear, safety footwear, PPE and fire safety needs. You can browse the selection, try on for size and even order items. We can print or embroider your workwear for that extra professional image.
